God is the source of my strength. He makes life worth living and gives me hope. Throughout the day, I find myself wondering what the proper way to live in His purpose- the will of God through Jesus Christ- is.

This question—how do I live with purpose?—is perhaps one of the most profound inquiries of the human heart. It's a question that transcends mere existence and reaches toward meaning, toward something greater than ourselves.

The Foundation of Purpose

Purpose isn't something we create; it's something we discover. When we recognize God as the source of our strength, we acknowledge that our lives are not accidents but intentional creations. Each day becomes an opportunity to align our actions with His will, to let our choices reflect the love and grace we've received through Christ.

Living in the Questions

There's beauty in the wondering itself. Asking, "What is the proper way to live in His purpose?" reveals a heart that's seeking, listening, and open to transformation. This isn't a question to answer once and file away—it's a daily conversation, a continuous unfolding of understanding.

Purpose is not a destination we arrive at, but a path we walk each day with intention and faith.

As the apostle Paul writes in Romans 15:13, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." This hope is not based on our circumstances but on God's unchanging character

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of this truth: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Even in seasons of uncertainty, we can trust that God's fulfilling His purposes.

The proper way to live in His purpose may look different for each of us, but the foundation remains the same: a life rooted in faith, expressed through love, and sustained by hope. Proverbs 3:5-6 guides us in this journey: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." We don't need to have all the answers—we simply need to trust the One who does.

This hope anchors our souls in life's storms. Hebrews 6:19 declares, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." When doubts arise, or challenges seem overwhelming, we can return to this anchor, knowing that God's promises are steadfast and true.

Living purposefully means embracing both the questions and the journey. Philippians 1:6 assures us: "Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." God is not finished with us yet. Each day is an opportunity for growth, transformation, and deeper understanding of His will.

It's a life that asks the questions, embraces the journey, and trusts in the One who makes all things meaningful. As we read in Psalm 37:4, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." When our hearts align with His, our purposes become intertwined with His eternal plan, and we discover that true fulfillment comes not from achieving our own goals, but from walking in step with the Spirit and allowing Christ to live through us each day.

Conclusion: The Path Forward

Living with purpose is ultimately about surrender and trust. It's waking each morning with the prayer, "Lord, use me today," and then stepping forward in faith, knowing that He who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it. We live with purpose not by having all the answers, but by staying close to the One who is the Answer—Jesus Christ, our hope, our strength, and the very reason our lives have meaning.

As we journey forward, may we remember that purpose is found not in grand achievements, but in faithful obedience to the small, daily callings God places before us. In loving our neighbor, in speaking truth with grace, in choosing forgiveness over bitterness, in serving rather than being served—this is where purpose comes alive. And in all of it, we rest in the promise that our lives, surrendered to Him, are never wasted but are woven into His eternal story of redemption and love.
